Investigation following discovery of man located injured and unresponsive in Richmond parking lot

On Jan. 17, 2025 shortly before 5:30 p.m. Richmond RCMP attended the 7000 block of Alderbridge Way. The man was transported to a local area hospital and is in critical but stable condition.

Richmond RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) is actively investigating to determine the exact cause of the man’s injuries. Based on the investigation to date, Richmond RCMP GIS does not believe there is a risk to the public.

“We are aware of posts circulating on social media in regards to this investigation,” says Staff Sergeant Gene Hsieh, Richmond RCMP Major Crime Commander, “We want to assure the public that we are actively investigating this incident, including retracing the man’s whereabouts prior to him being discovered in the parking lot. We are asking anyone who may have seen this man to contact Richmond RCMP.”

The man is described as:

  • Caucasian male;
  • 43 years;
  • 185 lbs;
  • 6 ft 00 in;
  • Blond hair;
  • Blue eyes.

He was wearing:

  • Blue jeans;
  • Olive drab bomber style jacket;
  • Black baseball cap with logo “Beer Worx”;
  • Black runners with white stripes.

This investigation remains active and ongoing.
